Walk Description: Take the Bus 335 from Holmfirth, stopping on the Slaithwaite Road, at Deer End Lane. Walk down the road and on reaching the Blackmoorfoot conduit canal, turn right along the bankside footpath. Follow this all the way to Blackmoorfoot Reservoir then turn right along the embankment road. On reaching Reservoir Side Road turn right along a track heading south to join Harrison Lane. Continue south along Crosland Edge, enjoying the views, going around a headland footpath at the southern end of Hall Heys Wood. Drop down a steep footpath on the right, going down the edge of  the wood, coming out onto the old disused railway line. Cross over and into a new housing development, walking along Woodland Walk road down onto the Meltham to Huddersfield Road.  Turn left here for 100m, then turn right down a track to Hall Dike. Cross over the stream and along the track passing the sewage works.  Join Bent Ley Road passing the household waste recycling depot, up  to the start of the wood. From here take a path up the hill into Honley Wood. Exit the wood by a mast and walk down a track to the Honley to Meltham Road near Knowl Top. Cross the road and take the path through the fields to Wood Nook farm, keeping to the path between the farm buildings.  Join Wood Nook Lane and follow this road round the bends to where Wood Nook Lane goes straight. Here take the track on the right towards Swinny Knoll (305m). Follow this overgrown track for about 200m then take the track on the left leading to Knoll Lane. Turn off to the right and wend your way across the fields  down to Dean Brook and on to Moor Lane, turning right towards Wilshaw. Turn right down Bradshaw Road.  At its junction with Wilshaw Mill Road, enter the wood through the stone stile on the corner and climb up the permissive path through the wood to Wolfstone Heights. The path emerges from the wood, shortly before the white trig point (325m).  Sit on the seat here and take in the scenic views over Upperthong and surrounding countryside.  Follow the ridge path down through the overgrown quarry site, accross Wolfstones Road and through Wolfstone Heights Farm, keeping to the paths. The path follows the ridge all the way down to Netherthong, entering the village on the Lydget Farm path. On reaching West End before Town Gate, turn back right down Broom Lea lane walking south on the edge of the village. At the last house on the left, take the path diagonally across the field, and wend your way to Mark Bottoms Dike and cross over the stepping stones at Dead Man’s Hole, then turn left along Mark Bottoms Lane and follow this track past the signal mast, along Holt Lane. At a sitting bench, turn left down Wood Lane, a steep overgrown track, past some houses down to the Huddersfield Road opposite the Holmfirth Tech. Turn right here and walk in to Homfirth and the end of the walk at the Old Bridge Hotel.
